Troubleshooting
A significant portion of our work involves troubleshooting for other NAV partners and NAV end users who have been unable to solve problems through other means. These problems may involve performance bottlenecks, integration challenges, implementation projects that have gone astray, or any form of software malfunction.
We are typically asked to assist in these situations for two reasons:
- With employees and associates who have a minimum of ten years’ experience with Dynamics NAV, have written books on it, taught courses, and assisted Microsoft in problem resolutions, we possess a deep working knowledge of the subject.
- We have successfully provided support to many NAV partners over the years, helping these partners resolve challenging problems while fully respecting their partner/client relationships.

Upgrades
Liberty Grove Software is one of just a handful of Microsoft-recognized NAV Upgrade Service Centers in the world. We’re familiar with every version of NAV from the earliest versions of Navision to Dynamics NAV 2013.
Key measures of a successful upgrade include:
- All desired data is migrated without loss.
- All desired add-ons and customizations are brought forward or replaced.
- The new system is thoroughly tested before it goes live.
- There is no unplanned downtime.
- The upgrade comes in on schedule and on budget.
Design & Implementation
The design and implementation of a new Dynamics NAV system is not rocket science, but it is, to a large degree, science. It has become this way because, after 100,000 plus Dynamics ERP installations across many diverse companies, Microsoft has created a process and a set of tools called Sure Step:
Sure Step doesn’t solve all the challenges of a successful ERP implementation on its own. That still requires good listening skills, good teamwork between the NAV partner and the client, and a lot of dedication and hardwork. But it is a true and tried methodology that provides a solid foundation for success.

Custom Development
NAV was designed to be both highly configurable and customizable. More than most ERP systems, it can be adapted to meet your unique business needs without sacrificing the cohesion of your system. It can also be quickly modified to capitalize on new opportunities.
With a team of fully certified programmers, Liberty Grove Software has an excellent track record with NAV customizations. That having been said, in keeping with our mandate of finding the simplest, most cost-effective solutions for our customers, our first step in any customization assessment is to explore whether the same needs can be met with a business process change or an existing third-party add-on. We call this our “look before we leap” rule.

Third-party Add-ons
One of the great features about NAV is its robust ecosystem of Independent Software Vendors (ISVs). These are typically NAV partners who develop industry or process-specific modules for NAV. The rich diversity of these products means that if you have processes in your company that are unique to your industry, or you’re using specialized equipment, say for shop-floor data collection, there’s a good chance an ISV has already built a NAV module to meet your needs.

Training
Proper training is crucial to achieving the full return on investment in any software system, especially an ERP system.
Liberty Grove Software is fortunate to have two of only a handful of NAV Lead Microsoft Certified Trainers in the world, in addition to our other NAV MCTs. This allows us to offer training at all levels: users, administrators, and prospective NAV developers. We can deliver this training either on-site or at dedicated training centers, in a classroom setting or one-on-one at employee’s desks.

Support
It is tempting, when looking at the impressive support levels Microsoft can offer NAV clients, to assume this is an issue for Microsoft, not a NAV partner.
Nothing could be further from the truth. Microsoft does not know your business processes, customizations, and/or third-party add-ons the way your partner does. And it is often difficult for NAV end users to provide the technical information Microsoft may need to solve a problem.
